The About Motherhood Book Club explores the personal complexities of being a mother, femininity, and domestic life. We’ll use the landmark text Of Woman Born by poet Adrienne Rich as companion text to novels, memoirs and beyond that plumb the joys, grief, indecision, curiosities, and love of motherhood. The Small & Indie Book Club highlights emerging and avant-garde novels from thoughtful independent presses across the US. Consider this a club of literary discovery: new writers, lesser-publicized works, hyper fresh voices. Hosted by First Light bookseller Annie Tate Cockrum.

The Future Greats Book Club explores the evolving and enduring nature of “great novels” in modern times. We’ll read frontlist and recent contemporary fiction with ambitious scope and cultural zeitgeist – books that we think will be read for a long, long time. Hosted by First Light partner Taylor Bruce.
