The Spotlight

The Spotlight is a new book club concept, co-hosted by Taylor Bruce, Breezy Mayo, and Rob Lowe. They’ll be reading novels, memoirs, and cultural nonfiction, each with the throughline of zeitgeisty influence on the broader cultural moment. These are books you keep hearing about, books chatted about on NPR, books getting awards buzz, books that feel tuned into the situation of our world.

January selection: Bread of Angels by Patti Smith. Meeting the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m., starting January 19.

Brevity

Brevity is a new book club concept hosted by bookseller and ops supervisor Jason Pollard. A year-long exploration of short story collections, whether old or new, grounded or untethered — if it’s short, we’ll read it.
