ABOUT THE BOOKSTORE
First Light is daybreak, the glow of dawn. It’s the feeling of possibility that a new day brings. It’s when we do our best thinking, sitting in the quiet with a cup of coffee and a book. It’s an open path, a blank page, a new beginning. Our hope at First Light is that walking inside our doors conjures these things for you, all hours and everyday.
ABOUT THE post office
Before First Light Bookshop found a home at 4300 Speedway, the building was a beloved post office for many years. It served as an important neighborhood hub. We’ll do our very best to be sure we’re carrying on that legacy and creating space for our Hyde Park community and beyond.
we the people
Meet the fine folks of First Light Books. Find them in the cafe and near the shelves at your new neighborhood place. Tell them what you’re reading lately. Ask them what you’re reading next.
