RSVP

Join First Light Books for a night of new fiction from the writers of this year's Kirkshop, one of Austin's most respected fiction workshops. Come hear the work, celebrate the writers, and stay for the cake.

About the event

The Kirkshop is a nine-month fiction workshop led by Kirk Walsh for writers working on novels and story collections. The group meets every Monday night from September through June, workshopping one another's manuscripts and reading and discussing recent books with various visiting authors. (This year's visitors included Ed Park, Megha Majumdar, Ethan Rutherford, and others.)

Each year, the Kirkshop concludes its nine months together with a public reading and celebration at First Light. This is that night. This year's readers include: Michael Deere, Katie Field, Zoë Gioja, Corinne Hughes, Winona León, Cameron Moreno, Sergio Muro, Katherine Noble, Abhijith Ravinutala, and Nouri Zarrugh.

Delicious cake will be served.
