Duties and Responsibilities:
1: Receiving Operations
- Manage all receiving operations, including unloading and sorting of deliveries
- Ensure that all incoming shipments are accurately and promptly processed
- Monitor the accuracy of all receiving records, including inventory and stock levels
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment
- Identify and resolve receiving and inventory discrepancies
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate operations
- Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities to make our internal processes and systems more efficient, save resources, and increase customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.
- Cleaning and Organizing – maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing trash, corrugated and clutter
2: Web-Order Operations
- Process incoming Web-Orders through our webshop.
- Pack and schedule deliveries of web-ordered products.
3: Damage and Return Processes
- Inspect, document, report, and process all damaged books, ensuring the timely donation or removal of damaged books from the work and storage spaces and following up with publisher to ensure that appropriate credits are applied to First LIght accounts
- Work with management team to pull, report, pack, and ship out any book returns to publishers, following up when necessary to ensure that appropriate credits are applied to First LIght accounts in a timely manner
4: Team Collaboration
- Work alongside Buyer, and other Managers to establish and maintain best practices for inventory management
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated retail and/or inventory management experience
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Basic business computer literacy; ability to train on bookstore inventory and POS software, including processing of web orders and vendor or customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, problem-solving skills a must
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining a strong attention to detail
- Passionate reader and knowledgeable about books, the industry and the market.
- Must be able to lift 50Ibs. and stand for extended periods of time
- Booklog or other bookstore POS experience a plus
- Flexibility in schedule; weekends and holidays are required
